Job summary

Our Lady of the Valley in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Director of Social Work to lead all programs and maintain resident and family records with a focus on residents’ rights and dignity. The role requires strong communication, organization, and professionalism in daily interactions.

Responsibilities include rounds with residents, counseling, coordinating admissions, liaising with the Department of Social Services, and protecting residents’ rights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or certification required.
• Previous long-term care experience preferred.

• Coordinate new resident orientation and help facilitate Resident Council Meetings.
• Protect residents’ rights, privacy, and dignity.
• Other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Pay range (based on experience): $30.00-$33.00 per hour

The Director of Social Work plays a critical role in the lives of residents. They are responsible for all programs and record keeping related to the social services needed by residents and families, while ensuring residents’ rights are respected. The right person for this role will be an effective communicator who is compassionate, organized, and professional at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Make rounds, counsel residents, and address their psychological and social needs

• Work with residents, families, and the Department of Social Services regarding applications, assessments, and other paperwork
