Job summary

The Executive Director of Soccer Development at YMCA of Greater Montgomery leads strategic and operational soccer programs at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex, including recreational and competitive soccer, camps, clinics, tournaments, and community outreach.

You will recruit and develop coaches and volunteers, manage player participation and budgets, build partnerships, and ensure programs deliver excellent customer service, inclusivity, and alignment with the YMCA mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business, social services, or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of youth sports experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in program development, including staff supervision and development, quality program design and implementation, volunteer engagement, facility and property management, and sound financial practices.
• Understanding of the mission and cause of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
• Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities while achieving organizational objectives.
• YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead with innovation, initiative, and sound judgment while developing programs, solving problems, and advancing organizational goals.
• Currently authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all soccer programs including recreational and competitive.Develop and maintain a club-wide player development philosophy and curriculum.
• Oversee player identification, evaluation, placement, recruitment, retention, and development within the competitive program.
• Organize competitive tryouts and assist with team formation.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, evaluate, and supervise professional coaches.
• Create, direct, and lead camps, clinics, and community outreach initiatives.
