Job summary

The Dallas YMCA, including the Semones YMCA, is seeking an Associate Sports Director to assist under the Regional Sports Director in administering sports programs. The role emphasizes program planning, staffing, scheduling, and inventory control to support YMCA youth sports and community engagement.

Ideal candidates will have experience in Physical Education or Recreation, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and cordial manner.
• Able to work with members, volunteers, staff and vendors.
• Available to drive to multiple locations; evenings and weekends required.
• Experience in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field.
• Knowledge of soccer, baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, and other sports.
• Basic facilities and equipment management knowledge.
• Hold or obtain YMCA trainings and certifications.
• Valid drivers license with clean record.
• High school diploma required; bachelors degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Physically able to move around facilities and lift 50 pounds.
• Able to stand and walk; visual/hearing/physical dexterity to substitute as a referee.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, promote, implement and evaluate sport programs.
• Recruit, train, supervise and recognize part-time staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate staff scheduling and payroll.
• Maintain records for program evaluation and reporting.
• Collaborate with Directors to optimize facility usage.
• Manage equipment maintenance and inventory control.
• Develop promotional materials and social media content.
• Participate in association-wide activities and staff meetings.
• Support branch Annual Campaign.
• Perform other duties as required.
