Lahey Health is seeking an experienced healthcare operations leader to drive business operations across multiple group practice locations in Massachusetts. You will implement quality and performance standards with Medical Leadership, and manage supervisors while guiding training and education initiatives.

The role requires strong personnel management, cost containment, and collaboration with clinicians to improve patient care.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business management or related field.
  • Seven to ten years of experience managing an administrative or clinical department within a medical facility or medical group practice.
  • Excellent personnel management skills and demonstrated leadership.
  • Strong cost containment mindset and financial acumen.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel required and influenza vaccination as a condition of employment.

Job description

  • Manage business operations across multiple group practice locations
  • Implement and maintain quality and performance standards with Medical Leadership
  • Manage supervisors and team leaders; provide feedback, recognition and support
  • Evaluate training needs and coordinate management staff training and education
  • Support staffing decisions, schedules, performance improvement, disciplinary action and restructuring
  • Interpret and enforce personnel policies with Human Resources support
  • Liaise with clinicians and address physician productivity, performance and behavioral concerns
  • Develop programs and processes supporting quality patient care initiatives
  • Set staff performance expectations in accordance with LPCO policies
  • Interview and participate in hiring management-level and key site personnel
  • Coordinate orientation for new managers and physicians
  • Conduct performance evaluations and administer merit salary increases
  • Negotiate and influence operational changes
  • Oversee preparation and control of annual operational budgets across multiple sites
  • Forecast personnel, supply, equipment, capital and training needs
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, overtime and financial performance
  • Work with Managed Care to maximize site financial performance
  • Monitor physical plants and manage construction, remodeling, relocation, vendor and lease requirements
  • Monitor staff, physician and patient satisfaction and report concerns to the Executive Director
  • Develop community relationships and identify growth opportunities
  • Recommend marketing and advertising strategies
  • Support practice acquisitions, IS conversions, new program development and compliance
  • Review and analyze performance data and provide reports
  • Incorporate Lahey Health principles, mission and goals into daily activities
  • Comply with Lahey Health policies and departmental behavioral expectations
  • Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and complete Mandatory Education
  • Perform other duties and projects as directed
Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in business management, healthcare management or related discipline or equivalent education and experience
  • Seven to ten years managing an administrative or clinical department within a medical facility or a medical group practice
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practices
  • Excellent personnel management skills and demonstrated ability to provide leadership
  • Strong approach and commitment to cost containment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards if any listed skills are absent
  • Must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment
  • Travel required
