Director of Sales And Business Development

Alliance Nav Inc. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales and Business Development with a solid background in the commercial maritime industry. This role requires expertise in maritime electronics equipment, including navigation, communication, automation, and electrical systems. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan to drive business growth, focusing on acquiring new accounts and expanding Alliance Nav's footprint across Canada and the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy Development and Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth in Canada and the US, with a focus on acquiring new accounts and expanding Alliance Nav’s footprint. Identify and prioritize target markets, segments, and customers, leveraging your knowledge of maritime electronics and understanding of industry needs.
  2. Customer Acquisition and Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs for navigation, communication, automation, and electrical systems. Cultivate long-term partnerships with new accounts to drive customer satisfaction and retention, tailoring solutions to meet specific operational requirements.
  3. Sales Pipeline Management and Reporting: Develop a robust sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities at all stages of the sales process. Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, including lead conversion rates, deal sizes, and sales cycle length, providing regular updates to the executive team.
  4. Collaboration and Team Leadership: Work closely with field service, marketing, and product teams to align sales efforts with product offerings and service capabilities in the maritime electronics sector. Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team, fostering a high-performance, results-oriented culture and promoting knowledge sharing on commercial maritime electronics solutions.
  5. Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities in maritime electronics. Gather and analyze feedback from customers, field staff, and industry sources to refine Alliance Nav’s sales approach and product development strategy.
  6. Revenue and Budget Management: Set and achieve quarterly and annual sales targets, aligning with the company’s growth objectives. Manage the sales budget, including expenses for travel, events, and initiatives supporting sales growth in the commercial maritime electronics field.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales role within the commercial maritime industry, with strong knowledge of marine navigation, communication, automation, and electrical systems.
  • Track record of successfully driving revenue growth and acquiring new accounts in a technical or maritime electronics environment.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Experience collaborating across functions to achieve sales and business goals.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Canada and the US as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the maritime industry’s unique needs, particularly related to electronics, automation, and communication systems.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, data analytics, and sales performance tools.
