Job summary

Providence is seeking a Director of Billing and Collections to lead remote billing operations for insurance and self-pay across our system. This leader will oversee AR management and ensure billing compliance while partnering with clinics and departments to optimize revenue cycle workflows.

You will drive A/R goals, implement strategies to improve collections and reduce receivables, and enhance the patient and provider experience while supporting our mission of patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of accounts receivable management experience.
• 8 years of leadership experience.
• 5 years of medical revenue cycle management experience.
• 3 years of executive-level relationship management experience.
• Experience standardizing complex processes across multiple facilities and settings.
• Healthcare business operations or financial management experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience managing all aspects of billing follow-up, denial management, reporting and reimbursement recovery, including patient accounting, third-party payer billing, and EDI billing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee billing and follow-up activities for Providence retained billing offices.
• Provide operational oversight of insurance and self-pay accounts receivable.
• Ensure billing compliance and drive revenue cycle improvements across the geographic footprint.
• Collaborate with clinics, operational leaders, finance, contracting, and vendors to optimize workflows.
• Accountable for achieving Professional Billing A/R goals and enhancing the patient/provider experience.
