Job summary

Connection in Illinois seeks a strategic Director of Proposals to lead enterprise-wide responses to RFPs, RFIs, and complex bids. You will standardize processes, guide cross‑functional teams, and drive proposals from inception to submission, continually improving win rates.

You will partner with Sales, Solution Architects, and SMEs to craft compelling narratives, establish governance, and mentor a high‑performing proposal team across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience managing private business and state and federal contract proposals across lifecycle.
• Experience leading full lifecycle proposal development processes and coordinating writers.
• Ability to collaborate with growth leads,Sales, and technical staff to articulate winning solutions.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide responses to RFPs, RFIs, and large complex bid opportunities.
• Drive a scalable proposal development process across business units.
• Own high‑priority pursuits ensuring submissions are accurate and on time.
• Partner with Sales, Solution Architects, and SMEs to develop winning strategies and narratives.
• Establish and lead a Deal Desk to evaluate high‑value opportunities.
• Build and maintain a centralized proposal knowledge base for efficiency.
• Implement governance and post‑deal review processes to improve quality.
• Lead kickoff meetings, coordinate deliverables, and manage timelines.
• Track win/loss metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Mentor a high‑performing proposal team with a culture of collaboration.
