Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Director of Proposals to lead our Business Proposals organization and translate complex deal strategies into compliant, timely customer submissions. You will build the team, standards of excellence, and execution discipline that help Shield AI win domestic and international business.

You will lead proposal Sr. Managers and proposal professionals supporting the Americas, international markets, and emerging products.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading proposals for defense or government opportunities.
• Proven ability to develop winning proposal strategies and win themes.
• Strong writing, editing, and content development skills.
• Experience coordinating across Sales, Engineering, Product, Finance, Legal, and delivery organizations.
• Familiarity with government contracting requirements and compliance.
• Ability to manage concurrent pursuits and allocate resources effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead proposal managers and teams with clear quality expectations.
• Develop workforce plans aligned with the opportunity pipeline and demand.
• Assign resources across concurrent pursuits and advise on prioritization.
• Establish a culture of candid feedback, high writing quality, and shared ownership.
• Own the proposal lifecycle from intake to submission, including revisions.
• Establish proposal schedules, compliance matrices, and content plans.
• Build reusable content libraries and improve proposal workflows.
• Measure timeliness, compliance, and win rate to drive improvements.
