Job summary

Barnhart-Crane is seeking a Director of Projects to provide leadership, governance, and oversight for its project portfolio across the branch network. You will partner with Branch Managers, Project Managers, regional and senior leaders to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.

In this role you will drive process improvements, supervise project status, identify risks, and support teams throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of project management, operations, construction, industrial services, or related leadership experience.
• Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience with project controls, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and performance reporting.
• Nuclear project experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Barnhart's project processes, tools, and standards.
• Establish and maintain project governance, reporting, and performance metrics.
• Ensure project practices align with company procedures, objectives, and industry requirements.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, and development of Project Managers across the organization.
• Oversee project pipeline, resource allocation, and overall project health across the branch network, including complex/nuclear projects.
• Provide visibility into project status, milestones, risks, challenges, and performance trends.
• Interface with Project Managers, Branch Managers, and leadership to ensure execution and accountability.
• Participate in key project reviews, readiness reviews, and project closeout activities.
• Support problem solving, risk mitigation, and customer interface.
• Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
