Job summary

BARNHART is seeking a Director of Projects to lead and govern our project portfolio across the branch network in North America. You will partner with Branch Managers and Senior Leadership to ensure safe, efficient execution in line with company standards.

You will oversee project status, drive process improvements, and mentor project teams through lifecycles, with emphasis on complex and nuclear-related initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of project management, operations, construction, industrial services, or related leadership experience.
• Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience with project controls, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and performance reporting.
• Nuclear project experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Barnhart's project processes, tools, and standards.
• Establish and maintain project governance, reporting, and performance metrics.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, and development of Project Managers across the organization.
• Collaborate with IT, Engineering, Operations, Fleet, Logistics, Fabrication, and other stakeholders to integrate project processes into company systems.
• Oversee implementation and enhancement of project management tools, reporting systems, and supporting technologies.
• Monitor project pipeline, backlog, resource allocation, and project health across the branch network.
• Provide visibility into project status, milestones, risks, and performance trends.
• Interface with Project Managers, Branch Managers, and leadership to ensure execution and accountability.
• Participate in reviews and contract closeout activities; support problem solving and risk mitigation.
• Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
