Job summary

Wanzek, part of MasTec Renewables, seeks a Director of Project Controls to lead the Project Controls Department across renewables programs. You will own earned value management, schedule, cost and change management, forecasting, and the teams that support these functions.

This senior role partners with operations, estimating, and leadership to implement best practices, develop talent, and drive data‑driven decisions while advancing safety and project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety
• Establish and directly manage the back-office project controls team including earned value management, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling and change management
• Supervise scheduling efforts including baseline, progress schedules, forecasts, and reporting
• Drive data-driven decisions with accurate project cost, schedule, and performance reporting
• Oversee and monitor project performance, including cost and schedule against baselines
• Identify trends and root causes and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate with estimating and operations on baselines and forecasts
• Assist with value-engineering and subcontract change orders
• Interface with stakeholders to provide guidance on controls
• Mentor and develop team members and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Attract, recruit, and retain top project controls talent
