Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee seeks a Director of Program Compliance to lead agency-wide compliance and quality assurance for housing, shelter and treatment programs. You will monitor regulatory changes, prepare for inspections, and drive corrective actions across diverse programs.

The role requires strong leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to interpret complex government contracts and guidance to improve service quality and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• BA in Social Work, Public Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Human Services, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in program compliance, quality assurance, auditing, regulatory affairs, or performance improvement within healthcare, behavioral health, housing, or human services.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience leading professional staff.
• Experience interpreting government contracts and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading regulatory inspections, audits, and corrective action planning.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations governing human services programs, including Medicaid, OMH, OASAS, DHS, HUD, or other funding/regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret contract and regulatory requirements; develop tools to assess compliance.
• Perform site-based reviews to determine level of compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead the program compliance team in preparing for inspections and audits; assess compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations.
• Develop and monitor corrective action plans; ensure timely, sustainable improvements.
• Identify compliance trends and advise leadership on reducing organizational risk.
• Provide training and assistance to staff to improve adherence with requirements.
• Oversee investigations of significant program incidents; identify root causes and corrective actions.
