Job summary

Medici Brands is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead the strategy, supplier relationships, and purchasing operations as the business scales in New York. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on leadership, and a track record of building scalable procurement infrastructure.

You will drive cost efficiencies, manage supplier negotiations, and partner with Finance to align budgets with growth targets in a rapidly expanding food brand.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain.
• Experience sourcing ingredients, raw materials, and packaging in manufacturing.
• Proven track record of negotiations, cost optimization, and risk management.
• Experience building procurement processes, ERP implementations, and scaling operations.
• Strong analytical, financial, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Hands-on, resourceful in fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute procurement strategy across raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
• Build scalable procurement processes, systems, and workflows, including ERP implementation and optimization.
• Develop materials planning frameworks, safety stock policies, and purchasing forecasts aligned with production needs.
• Establish procurement KPIs, reporting, and visibility into purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance.
• Develop sourcing strategies balancing cost, quality, reliability, and scalability.
• Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to strengthen supply continuity and reduce risk.
• Build contingency plans for critical ingredients and packaging components.
• Partner with R&D, Commercialization, Quality, and Manufacturing for launches and production.
