Job summary

Stellarus Technology in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Director of Performance Engineering and Test Automation to build automated performance and reliability validation systems that provide evidence before production.

You will own strategy for performance testing, synthetic monitoring, and release gates, partner with developers to set standards, tooling, and patterns, and drive AI-assisted engineering to improve quality and velocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience.
• 10 years of software engineering, quality engineering, performance engineering, or related technical experience.
• 6 years leading teams or programs focused on performance, test automation, or production readiness.
• Hands-on experience building automated test systems, load testing frameworks, performance pipelines, or reliability tooling.
• Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native apps.
• Understanding of latency, throughput, concurrency, and production failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and implementation for performance testing, load testing, scalability validation, and resilience testing.
• Define standards, patterns, tooling, and expectations for testing across services.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Evaluate AI-assisted engineering tools for test generation, analysis, and automation.
• Lead performance and reliability initiatives across distributed systems.
