Job summary

Stellarus is seeking a Director of Performance Engineering and Test Automation to define and build automated performance and reliability validation systems. You will own strategy for performance testing, load testing, scalability validation, and synthetic monitoring across Stellarus platform, partnering with engineering to raise quality and speed.

Lead a cross-functional team focused on production readiness and observability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher, plus 4 years of relevant experience.
10 years of software, quality, performance, or platform engineering experience.
6 years leading teams or programs focused on performance, reliability, or production readiness.
Strong hands-on background with automated test systems, load testing, and performance tooling.
Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native apps.
Understanding of latency, throughput, concurrency, caching, retries, and production failure modes.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release gates.
AI-assisted engineering tools for test generation or analysis preferred.
Healthcare or regulated-industry platform experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Define strategy and implement performance testing, load testing, and reliability validation.
Own benchmarks, synthetic monitoring, and release readiness across the Stellarus platform.
Collaborate with developers to set standards, tooling, and expectations for design, build, test, and operate services.
Foster a culture of continuous validation of performance and reliability across production and staging.
