Job summary

Monarch Healthcare Management is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and coordinate nursing services across its Minnesota facilities. You will oversee RAI/MDS processes, ensure quality care, and ensure compliance with regulations while supervising staff and optimizing resources.

The DON will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of care, mentor nursing staff, and support operational needs within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Minnesota with training in rehabilitation nursing, gerontology, nursing service administration, management, supervision and psychiatric or geriatric nursing.
• Must qualify for employment after criminal background study per Minnesota DHS guidelines.
• Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community.

Responsibilities

• RAI, MDS & Care Planning Oversight: coordinate interdisciplinary care planning and participate in patient care conferences, admissions and discharges.
• Clinical Nursing Leadership & Care Coordination: direct total nursing care, ensure accurate documentation, implement procedures, update manuals, coordinate with physicians.
• Regulatory Compliance & Quality Improvement: ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and Residents’ Bill of Rights and promote quality initiatives.
• Medication Management & Clinical Monitoring: ensure safe medication administration and coordinate with pharmacy consultants.
• Staffing, Budgeting & Department Efficiency: manage staffing within budget, oversee supplies/equipment, and support cost decisions.
• Professional Leadership & Facility Engagement: lead staff meetings/education, participate in audits, and support operations as needed.
