Job summary

Monarch Healthcare Management seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing services, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and drive best practices across our Minnesota facilities.

The DON will oversee RAI/MDS processes, care planning, and interdisciplinary coordination, while managing staffing, budgets, and resources to deliver safe, compassionate resident care. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Minnesota with training in rehabilitation, gerontology, nursing administration, management, supervision, or psychiatric/geriatric nursing—either before or within 12 months of appointment as Director of Nursing Services.
• Must pass a criminal background check as required by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
• Must communicate effectively in verbal and written form and perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain nursing service objectives and standards.
• Oversee RAI process, MDS coordination, care planning, and resident care delivery.
• Provide administrative authority and leadership to nursing staff.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, referrals, and interdisciplinary care planning with other departments.
• Manage staffing and scheduling within budget guidelines.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are adequate in partnership with Administration and Maintenance.
