The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the direction and supervision of nursing staff/activities and ensuring departmental goals and objectives are met efficiently. This role involves making administrative decisions based on long-term care policies and nursing standards, ensuring compliance with nursing practice standards to promote optimal healthcare delivery. The DON interprets and implements administrative and resident care policies as communicated by the VP, Senior Administrator, and manages staffing, meetings, and departmental coordination. The position also oversees quality improvement activities, manages nursing expenses, and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations.
Complete specialized training in infection prevention and control. Develop and implement ongoing programs to prevent, recognize, and control infections, ensuring a safe environment. Oversee facility-wide infection prevention systems, lead the Infection and Prevention Control Committee, and participate in quality assessments. Provide education on infection control principles and collaborate with departments on occupational health and safety. Maintain documentation of infection control activities.
Pay range: $81,681 - $136,136 annually
