Pay, Benefits and Perks of Director of Nursing (DON):

Essential Functions of Director of Nursing (DON):
- Provide personal care to residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, compliant with Company Policies, Procedures, and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for nursing staff in collaboration with relevant services.
- Ensure nursing services are provided 24/7.
- Establish and maintain job descriptions for nursing staff.
- Support cultural practices that do not harm others or interfere with medical therapy.
- Adjust staffing plans to ensure optimal resident care coverage.
- Document and report all resident incidents per policies and regulations.
- Represent nursing on various committees (Infection Control, Pain Management, Performance Improvement, QA).
- Conduct daily rounds on all nursing units.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Collaborate with other departments for an interdisciplinary approach.
- Ensure assessments are performed and documented appropriately.
- Evaluate residents’ conditions and manage pain appropriately.
- Promote independence and a safe environment.
- Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
- Lead and role-model team behavior.
- Follow Abuse Prevention policies.
- Notify physicians of condition changes and follow up.
- Implement care plans based on assessments.
- Attend all required meetings and coordinate with administration on budgeting and staffing.
- Control costs within budget.
- Follow infection control procedures.
- React decisively in emergencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications of Director of Nursing (DON):
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current RN license required.
- Minimum 5 years of nursing management experience.
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
- Ability to react quickly in emergencies.
- Maintain confidentiality and train clinical staff effectively.
