LifePoint Health is seeking an experienced RN leader to serve as Director of Nursing for Surgical Services in Wilson, NC. This full-time, on-site role oversees OR, PACU, and Same Day Surgery with a focus on patient safety, quality, and operational excellence.

The position requires a BSN, NC RN licensure, 5+ years OR nursing experience, and 3+ years leadership. ACLS/PALS due within 90 days. Competitive benefits and development opportunities available.

• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room nursing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of management or healthcare leadership experience.
• Current BLS certification.

• Strong leadership and budgeting skills.

About Surgical Services

The Director of Nursing – Surgical Services will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across the hospital's Perioperative Services Department, which includes:

• Operating Room (OR)
• Same Day Surgery (SDS)

This individual will oversee daily departmental operations, ensure high standards of patient care, manage budgets and staffing resources, drive quality improvement initiatives, and develop a high-performing perioperative team.

What You'll Do

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of the Operating Room, PACU, and Same Day Surgery departments.
• Establish departmental goals, operational priorities, and performance expectations.
• Ensure efficient surgical workflows and effective utilization of departmental resources.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.
• Develop, monitor, and manage departmental budgets.
• Oversee staffing costs, productivity, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Lead recruitment, retention, coaching, and professional development of perioperative personnel.
• Build a collaborative, engaged, and high-performing clinical team.
• Partner with surgeons, physicians, and hospital leadership to improve surgical services.
• Monitor departmental performance metrics and implement operational improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Active North Carolina RN License or Compact RN License.
• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room nursing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of management or healthcare leadership experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Strong Operating Room nursing background and proven leadership capabilities.
• Experience managing clinical teams, departmental operations, and resources.

Preferred Experience:

• Perioperative Services leadership and administration.
• Oversight of OR, PACU, and Same Day Surgery operations.
• Departmental budget management, staffing, and quality improvement.
