TDC is a residential facility located in Northwest Ohio. We support youth aged 10-17 and adults with developmental disabilities. We have a large rural campus which provides opportunities for our residents to be active in addition to being part of our community. Our direct care staff and nurses provide 24/7 care to the individuals who call TDC home. We focus on support and stabilization so our individuals can integrate into an environment that best meets their wants and needs.

Job Description

What you will do as the Director of Nursing:

  • Supervise nursing staff (combination of LPNs and RNs) on all shifts - this includes completing performance evaluations, determining staffing needs, assigning duties, coaching/mentoring, training, conducting staff meetings, addressing performance/attendance issues and complying with the provisions in the collective bargaining agreements. This position also supervises the Dietitian and Licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Oversee the medical care of the residents by ensuring standards of practice are followed, coordination of clinics and other specialty needs with physicians and other providers, and work with pharmacies to ensure correct medications and doses are received.
  • Contribute as a member of various facility committees - i.e. Executive Staff, Administrative Policy & Procedure, Nursing Policy & Procedure, Infection Control, Admission/Discharge, Human Rights, Incident Review, and Electronic Health Records.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS standards for Intermediate Care Facilities for Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled and develop plans of correction when deficiencies are found.
  • Train all staff on nursing/medical related topics as needed.
  • Work varied hours to ensure contact with all three shifts and may work as a shift nurse during times of staff shortages.

Qualifications

Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing & nursing registration per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code; 36 mos. exp. in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities; completion of undergraduate core program in nursing; 30 mos. trg. or 30 mos. exp. in management; 30 mos. trg. or 30 mos. exp. in supervision; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in public relations; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in counseling.

-Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.
