We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team at our skilled nursing facility. The DON is responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing operations, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective team management.
Provide leadership and direction for the nursing department, ensuring high standards of care.
Oversee daily clinical operations and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff performance.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including CMS and OSHA.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance initiatives.
Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and participate in resident care planning.
Act as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and healthcare professionals.
Prepare for and participate in surveys and inspections.
Monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage and optimal care delivery.
Manage infection control, safety practices, and risk management protocols.
Participate in budgeting and resource allocation for the nursing department.
Current and valid RN license in the state of [Insert State].
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations for skilled nursing.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to mentor and build high-performing clinical teams.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience as a DON or ADON in a skilled nursing facility.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (e.g., PointClickCare).
Successful track record with state surveys and quality initiatives.
