The Practical Nursing Director is responsible for the administration of the nursing program. The Practical Nursing Director supports faculty and serves as a resource for faculty new to nursing education.

Summary Of Major Duties/Responsibilities

1. Take responsibility for maintaining the quality of the Allied Healthcare and Practical Nursing Programs.
2. Provide input and oversee the Practical Nursing Program budget.
3. Serve as the Practical Nursing Program liaison in all concerns related to the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
4. Prepare self-studies, responses to deficiencies, and annual reports with input from program faculty and college personnel.
5. Orient new nursing faculty and staff, assisting them during their first year of employment as they prepare and teach courses.
6. Teach a minimum course load at least one semester a year.
7. Maintain current registration as a professional nurse in Pennsylvania.
8. Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
9. Have at least two years of nursing practice experience.
10. Possess experience in nursing, nursing education, and educational administration, preferably in a Practical Nursing Program.
