Job Description

Willowcrest offers a complete range of skilled nursing and rehabilitative services for patients who are staying long-term or recovering from an illness, injury or major surgery. We serve as a bridge between the hospital and home. Our goal is to help our patients regain independence and return home with confidence.

The Director of Nursing leads, supports, and empowers a diverse team of nursing professionals and auxiliary staff to consistently deliver high-quality, compassionate, and compliant care to a wide range of patients—from adolescents to the frail elderly.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, organize, and direct all nursing service activities to ensure the highest standards of care for residents.
  2. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in partnership with patients and their designated care partners.
  3. Evaluate and improve nursing care practices to ensure optimal quality and efficient utilization of resources.
  4. Oversee compliance with federal, state, and facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
  5. Provide leadership and professional development to nursing staff through structured in-service education and training.
  6. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that prioritizes the dignity, rights, and well-being of all residents.
  8. Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with other members of the leadership team.
Qualifications Required:
  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
  2. Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of full-time or equivalent clinical nursing experience.
  4. At least 2 years of nursing supervision experience in a Short Term Care setting.
Preferred:
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  2. Certification in Gerontological Nursing or Nursing Administration.
  3. Experience in leading clinical teams through regulatory surveys and audits.
