At Cedarbrook Senior Living, we work hard every day to find out what “Celebrating Life Every Day!” means to our residents and their families, then we help them achieve these goals. We are seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing for our Bloomfield Hills community.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct day-to-day functions of the licensed communities in accordance with applicable community, federal, state, and local standards to promote that the highest degree of quality care is provided to its residents.
- Develops objectives for care staff and standards of practice for nursing services.
- Serves as a leader and mentor for the Care department and ensures optimal resident care is provided.
- Coordinates and leads care conferences with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Assures resident assessments and care plans are up to date according to LARA’s rules and regulations.
- Completes level of care changes in a timely manner.
- Assists with the development of organizational structure for nursing services.
- Interprets standards and guidelines for nursing services to team members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as required and ensures they are followed.
- Represents the Care department both internally and to the public including governmental agencies, third party payers, and the general population.
- Works harmoniously with department managers concerning level of care transitions and general communication as well as all other interactions that promote an efficient and effective overall community operation.
- Assists with developing and administering of the overall budget process for nursing services including accurately forecasting expenses and implementing cost control measures.
- Ensures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
- Leads in-service training and care department meetings.

Education/Experience:
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Previous management experience in a retirement community or long-term care facility required.
