The Corona Chamber of Commerce is looking for a relationship builder and results-driven leader to serve as our next Director of Membership.
In this role, you will lead the Chamber’s efforts to grow membership, strengthen retention, increase engagement, and expand membership revenue. You will work directly with business leaders throughout the region and help members connect with the relationships, resources, advocacy, and opportunities that support their success.
This is a visible leadership position for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing strategy, and turning plans into measurable results. You will report directly to the President/CEO and serve as the Chamber’s senior membership leader.
What You’ll Do
- Membership Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute strategies that grow membership, expand participation, strengthen the Chamber’s value proposition, and support long-term organizational success.
- Membership Recruitment: Build and manage a strong prospect pipeline, conduct business visits and membership presentations, develop referral relationships, and achieve membership growth and revenue goals.
- Membership Retention & Renewals: Strengthen the renewal process, engage directly with renewing and at-risk members, address concerns, and use member feedback and performance data to improve retention.
- Member Engagement & Experience: Build lasting relationships with members, connect businesses with relevant Chamber opportunities and resources, conduct member satisfaction outreach, use feedback to improve the member experience, and increase participation across programs, events, advocacy efforts, and leadership opportunities.
- Membership Revenue Development: Manage membership revenue goals, identify opportunities to increase member investment, support sponsorship and partnership initiatives, and contribute to revenue forecasting and long-range planning.
- Data Analytics & Performance Management: Track recruitment, retention, engagement, and revenue results, maintain accurate membership data, and use performance metrics to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
- Marketing & Membership Communications: Work with Chamber staff to develop recruitment and retention campaigns, clearly communicate the value of membership, and highlight member success and business impact.
- Leadership & Community Representation: Serve as the Chamber’s senior membership resource, support Board and volunteer leadership, participate in organizational planning, and represent the Chamber throughout the business community.
What You’ll Bring
- At least five years of progressive experience in membership development, chamber or association management, business development, sales leadership, or a related field.
- A demonstrated record of success in membership growth, retention, engagement, sales, or revenue development.
- Strong relationship-building, strategic planning, presentation, and communication skills.
- The ability to build productive relationships with business leaders, Board members, volunteers, elected officials, and community partners.
- Experience using performance data to set priorities and improve results.
- Experience with CRM platforms or membership management systems.
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with organizational leadership.

Members will understand the value of their investment, find meaningful ways to participate, and view the Chamber as an essential partner in their success. You will bring focus, accountability, and consistent follow-through to every stage of the membership experience.
About the Work
This is an on-site position with regular interaction throughout the business community. You will meet with members and prospective members, attend Chamber and community functions, and represent the organization as a professional and trusted ambassador. The role includes some early morning, evening, and occasional weekend commitments.
Compensation
The target compensation for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience.
