Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Operations & Manufacturing Director in the Private Equity Performance Improvement practice. The role focuses on analyzing manufacturing and distribution operations, driving cost improvements, and leading transformation programs for portfolio companies.

The candidate will work with C-suite executives and PE deal teams, leveraging deep industry expertise and a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in industry and consulting, with ≥4 years in manufacturing or distribution.
• Experience with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
• MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand target’s manufacturing and distribution operations, including organization design and capacity.
• Evaluate production facilities’ maintainability and operability.
• Review data to understand efficiency and capacity, including equipment conditions and maintenance logs.
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and reviewing data.
• Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean, outsourcing or consolidation of facilities.
• Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and manage the team and day-to-day relationships for exceptional performance.
