Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in Seattle seeks a Director of Operations & Manufacturing within its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice to lead manufacturing and distribution workstreams across portfolio companies, partnering with private equity sponsors and operating partners to create value.

The role requires senior advisory expertise, strategic transformation, and hands-on execution with a track record of driving operational improvements in manufacturing and supply chains.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years combined industry and consulting experience, with at least 4 years in manufacturing and/or distribution.
• Experience with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
• Advisory experience from a top-tier firm or Big-4 preferred.
• MBA a plus; leadership of cross-functional teams and change programs.

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of target’s manufacturing and distribution operations.
• Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review data to understand efficiency, capacity, and equipment conditions.
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and reviewing data.
• Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing or consolidation.
• Develop transformation plans and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Implement and oversee delivery quality and manage the team daily.
