Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) seeks a Director of Operations & Manufacturing. The team focuses on improving operating results for portfolio companies, across manufacturing, supply chain, and related functions, with a structured, value‑driven approach.

You will drive cost improvements and transformations as part of a high-impact PE advisory group. The salary range is $150,000–$225,000 annually, with a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm

Qualifications

10-15+ years in combined industry and consulting with at least 4 years in manufacturing/distribution.
Experience with top-tier advisory firms or Big-4 required.
Experience working for or with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
Deep functional expertise in Supply Chain Ops, Manufacturing Ops, Lean, Six Sigma, IIoT/4.0, and related areas.
Proven track record partnering with C-suite and PE operating partners.
MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

Understand target's manufacturing and distribution operations, including org design and capacity.
Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
Review data to assess efficiency, capacity, and equipment conditions.
Provide shop floor insights from interviews and data review.
Identify cost improvements through lean, outsourcing, or consolidation.
Develop transformation plans and identify risks and mitigations.
Oversee deliverables quality and lead the team day-to-day.
