GridStor is seeking an experienced Director, Large Load Interconnection to lead the technical strategy for interconnections supporting hyperscale data centers and energy infrastructure across North America.

The role encompasses Front-of-the-Meter and Behind-the-Meter interconnections, BESS, and coordination with utilities and ISOs/RTOs. Ideal candidates possess deep expertise in interconnection studies and grid integration for large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years in transmission planning, large load interconnection, or power systems.
• Experience supporting hyperscale data centers or large load interconnections.
• Strong understanding of transmission systems, substations, and interconnection processes.
• Experience with PJM, ERCOT, and CAISO preferred.
• Experience with PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP-RV, PowerFactory, ETAP, or equivalents.
• Experience evaluating BESS, hybrid generation, or renewable integration.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead interconnection strategy across ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, SPP, WECC.
• Manage lifecycle of interconnection processes from application to agreements.
• Develop technical solutions for BESS, hybrid generation, and data center projects.
• Interface with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and equipment manufacturers.
• Evaluate data center power architectures and redundancy strategies.
• Lead transmission planning, power flow, EMT, and grid compliance studies.
• Coordinate HIL testing and model validation with OEMs, EPCs, utilities.
• Identify risks, constraints, and cost exposures with mitigation plans.
• Monitor ISO/regulatory requirements and adjust strategies.
• Provide technical leadership to internal teams and consultants.
