Job summary

STACK Infrastructure seeks a Director, Electric Utilities to lead load interconnection efforts and manage utility relationships for data center projects in the U.S. The role supports the development team, environmental and regulatory initiatives, and strategic process improvements.

The ideal candidate has extensive energy industry experience, strong communication, and proven ability to translate complex technical issues for cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, creative thinking, and communication skills.
• Comfort creating processes and implementing strategies and procedures that serve an organization.
• Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks with minimal-to-no supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal staff, external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage load interconnection process and act as primary contact with utility for data center projects.
• Own and cultivate utility relationships and foster collaborative relationships.
• Document the utility load interconnection process related to financial commitments, costs, duration, and power commitments.
• Support reviews of utility contracts related to the project.
• Forecast and manage utility budgets for projects.
• Support leasing activities to understand business cases for each project.
• Work with development team to develop business cases for projects.
• Vet potential datacenter sites for power delivery timeframes from the utility.
• Develop and implement near‑ and long‑term strategies with the VP to improve internal processes.
• Understand planning practices of utilities and ISO/RTO in assigned regions.
