Job summary

The Director, Laboratory at Community Health Systems, Inc. oversees the clinical laboratory’s administrative, fiscal, and technical operations to ensure compliant, high-quality testing across the hospital and off-site lab activities.

You will lead quality assurance, regulatory compliance with CAP/AABB/CLIA, staff development, budgeting, and strategic planning, while coordinating with other departments and maintaining accurate payroll and inventory.

Qualifications

• Requires high complexity CLIA qualifications.
• Leadership experience preferred (3–5 years).
• Ability to manage budgets, staff development, and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversees administrative, fiscal, and technical operations of the clinical laboratory.
• Ensures quality control, quality assurance, and point-of-care testing programs.
• Manages personnel, hiring, discipline, and staff development.
• Ensures compliance with CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, CLIA, and other regulatory standards.
• Plans, directs, and evaluates work; coordinates with hospital departments.
