Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee administrative, fiscal, and technical operations in the clinical laboratory, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care. The role includes planning, budgeting, and coordinating with hospital departments to optimize workflow.

The candidate will supervise staff, develop competencies, and drive process improvements using healthcare software and data driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in a closely related field.
• 2-4 years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and evaluates the laboratory's work to ensure quality patient care.
• Hires, trains, and develops staff; assesses competencies continuously.
• Ensures compliance with CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, and other standards; maintains documentation.
• Manages department budget and resources; drives cost-effective operations.
• Collaborates with hospital departments to improve service delivery.
• Provides leadership, mentorship and performance feedback to staff.
• Implements quality assurance and safety initiatives in the department.
• Uses hospital software to streamline lab processes and improve efficiency.
