Job summary

Form Energy is scaling quickly across research, engineering, and manufacturing, and the Director of IT Operations will own the infrastructure, end‑user services, networks, identity, and endpoint fleet that keep the company running across four U.S. sites.

This role builds a lean, metrics‑driven, audit‑ready IT operation—delivering excellent service to a demanding R&D, lab, and manufacturing user base while establishing the operational controls a maturing company requires.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT with 5+ years leading IT operations and/or infrastructure teams across multiple sites.
• Operational maturity across identity, endpoint, network, and cloud (M365/Azure).
• Experience operating IT controls in a compliance‑intense environment and producing audit evidence.
• Track record of lean, metrics‑driven operations with high service levels.

Responsibilities

• Own core IT infrastructure: servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud services; identity and access infrastructure; ensure security baselines and licensing compliance.
• Lead endpoint fleet management across Windows and macOS; manage service catalog.
• Direct networking across sites and coordinate IT/OT boundary with manufacturing controls teams.
• Own service desk, procurement, and IT asset management; define SLAs and drive customer‑service culture.
• Mature incident, problem, change management; monitoring, backup, and runbooks; on‑call readiness.
• Manage IT general controls and collaborate with Cybersecurity & GRC and external auditors.
• Manage vendors, licensing, and operating budget; build a lean, reliable IT organization.
• Lead distributed team across MA, CA, WV; coach, hire, and shape capability gaps.
