Job summary

Blue Signal Search seeks a business-minded Director of IT Operations to own the technology function, strengthen infrastructure across locations, and guide growth through a major new production facility.

You will build an internal IT team, set the technology roadmap, manage ERP and enterprise applications, vendor relationships, and ensure scalable, secure operations that support manufacturing and plant initiatives.

Qualifications

• Progressive IT leadership with strong infra, networking, servers and security knowledge.
• Experience evaluating objectives, budgeting, and executing initiatives with business impact.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set the technology roadmap across corporate and plant environments translating business priorities into scalable plans.
• Direct core infrastructure: networks, servers, endpoints, IAM, backup, security controls, business apps.
• Own technology workstream for a major new production site including design, connectivity, security, budgeting, deployment.
• Partner with finance, operations, engineering, supply chain and plant leadership to align tech with growth and production needs.
• Provide ERP and enterprise applications leadership while collaborating with application specialists and external tech resources.
• Manage vendors, licensing, procurement, and project resources focusing on performance and accountability.
• Build and develop an internal technology team with hiring, coaching and delegation.
• Establish scalable policies, documentation, operating standards, access controls and service processes.

They are seeking a business-minded Director of IT Operations to take ownership of the technology function, strengthen the infrastructure supporting multiple locations, and help shape the next stage of growth. This is a highly visible opportunity for a technology leader who wants to build rather than simply maintain, including leading the technology strategy behind a significant new production facility and developing an internal IT team as the business scales.

Focus:

• Set the technology roadmap across corporate and plant environments, translating business priorities into scalable plans, budgets, risk assessments, and implementation strategies.
• Direct core infrastructure spanning networks, servers, endpoints, identity, access, backup, recovery, security controls, and business applications.
• Own the technology workstream for a major new production site, including network and wireless design, equipment connectivity, security, vendor selection, budgeting, and deployment.
• Partner across finance, operations, engineering, supply chain, and plant leadership to ensure technology effectively supports growth and production requirements.
• Provide leadership for ERP and enterprise applications while partnering with dedicated application specialists and external technology resources.
• Manage technology vendors, licensing, procurement, support partners, contractors, and project resources with a focus on performance and accountability.
• Build and develop an internal technology team as the organization expands, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and thoughtful delegation.
• Establish scalable policies, documentation, operating standards, access controls, and service processes while coordinating with broader enterprise technology partners.

Skill Set:

• Progressive IT experience with strong knowledge of infrastructure, networking, servers, security, identity and access management, and enterprise systems.
• Business-minded leadership skills with the ability to evaluate objectives, define resources and budgets, communicate recommendations, and own execution.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Experience supporting a new facility buildout, including IT infrastructure, networking, systems deployment, or related technology implementation preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build credibility with executives, technical teams, vendors, office employees, and plant personnel.
• Experience building, modernizing, or expanding technology infrastructure across multiple sites or within a growing organization.
• People leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to hire, develop, manage, and delegate to a growing technical team.
• Experience with ERP platforms or business systems oversight. NetSuite familiarity is helpful but not required.
• Background delivering facility technology, network deployments, systems implementations, integrations, or other substantial IT projects.
• Comfort working in industrial, manufacturing, construction, project-based, or other multi-location operating environments, with the flexibility to travel as business needs require.
