Job summary

Viridan Group, a leading independent power producer, seeks a Director of Interconnection to own the interconnection function across a multi-GW portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects in the US and Canada. This senior, hands-on role serves as the go-to expert on generator interconnection and transmission, guiding projects from queue entry through COD.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in generation interconnection or transmission planning with full lifecycle experience.
• Hands-on power system modeling using PSS/E, PowerWorld, or TARA.
• Deep knowledge of FERC, OATT tariffs, and interconnection procedures across ISOs/RTOs.

Responsibilities

• Own interconnection strategy across the portfolio, including POI selection and queue management.
• Review feasibility, system impact, and cost studies to reduce upgrades and schedule risk.
• Oversee electrical design reviews of collection systems, substations and gen-tie lines.
• Lead negotiations on interconnection agreements with utilities, ISOs and RTOs.
• Own interconnection budgets, deposits and cost forecasting with portfolio-level risk reporting.
• Lead technical due diligence on acquisitions and partnerships.
• Build, mentor and scale a high-performing interconnection team.
