Job summary

AVANGRID POWER, LLC is seeking a Director, Transmission/Interconnection to develop and implement interconnection and transmission strategies across the national ISO/RTO footprint. The role leads a team of analysts, negotiates agreements, and collaborates with multiple internal groups to advance renewable project development.

The position requires deep knowledge of ISO tariffs, FERC orders, and transmission development, with strong leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience negotiating interconnection agreements and assessing project risk.
• Thorough knowledge of ISO tariffs and generator interconnections.
• FERC, state interconnection and transmission development knowledge.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Origination, Development, Project Delivery, Asset Management and Policy groups to align interconnection and transmission strategies with project schedules.
• Develop and execute interconnection and transmission strategies across all U.S. ISOs and RTOS.
• Represent transmission strategy before ISOs/RTOs, transmission owners, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Manage internal procedures for interconnecting generators in line with policy and goals.
• Originating, negotiating and coordinating new interconnection agreements and studies with ISOs and third parties.
• Manage existing interconnection agreements ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Support executive-level activities including financing readiness and FERC filing support.
• Manage relationships with transmission owners and ISO/RTOS in conferences and taskforces.
• Lead and develop a team of interconnection analysts and coaching for development.
• Set priorities and manage team workload across regions.
