Job summary

AVANGRID POWER, LLC is seeking a Director of Transmission and Interconnection to lead nationwide interconnection and transmission strategies across ISOs/RTOs. You will coordinate with origination, development and policy teams, manage interconnection agreements, and build relationships with regulators, transmission owners, and major customers.

The role requires a deep knowledge of FERC, ISO tariffs, and renewable interconnections, with a strong emphasis on leadership and executive support

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in negotiation of interconnection agreements with consideration of a renewable projects’ overall schedule and risk.
• Thorough knowledge of ISO tariff procedures and schedule for generator interconnections, applicable engineering, work practices and procedures, and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of Federal, ISO, FERC and state interconnection, market and transmission development, planning, interconnection and operating procedures.
• Strong ability to understand and communicate complex issues verbally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with ISO staff, transmission owners, members, and generation owners.
• Demonstrate expertise in relationship/team building and key stakeholder relationship building.
• Demonstrate ability to influence and lead others.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of the Avangrid Power organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal groups to align interconnection and transmission strategies with project schedules.
• Develop and execute interconnection strategies across all U.S. ISOs and RTOs.
• Represent transmission and interconnection strategy before owners, ISOs/RTOs, and regulators.
• Manage internal procedures for interconnecting generators per policy.
• Originating, negotiating and coordinating all new interconnection agreements and studies.
• Manage existing interconnection agreements for compliance and efficiency.
• Support executive activities including financing readiness and FERC filings.
• Build relationships with transmission owners and ISOs/RTOS; participate in conferences and taskforces.
• Lead and develop a team of interconnection analysts; provide coaching and development.
