Job summary

Kentucky Fire Commission seeks a Director of Human Resources (Human Resources Partner IV) to lead the HR Office, manage recruitment, salary calculations, and employee relations, and serve on the Fire Commission Leadership Team. This 12-month term, on-site role requires guiding policy interpretation and benefits administration.

Travel to Fire Commission District Campuses as needed; knowledge of FMLA, workers' compensation, unemployment, and applicable laws is essential; a Bachelor's degree with

• Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Master's Degree preferred, with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of employee relations, FMLA, workers' compensation, and unemployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage HR Office for the Fire Commission, including employment processes, advertising, recruitment, and salary calculations.
• Provide guidance on employee relations and grievance issues; conduct new employee orientation.
• Manage employee benefits at hire and during open enrollment; travel to district campuses as needed.
• Serve on the Fire Commission Leadership Team and oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
