Job summary

Bell & Associates, Inc. is seeking a hands-on HR Director to strengthen the HR function, improve processes and technology, and lead talent development across the organization. You will advise senior leadership while ensuring compliance and mitigating employment risks in a high-performing culture.

The role oversees ADP, HRIS platforms, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Payroll, IT, and external vendors to optimize HR operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• Significant progressive HR leadership experience, including leading an HR department.
• Demonstrated experience rebuilding or transforming an HR function with measurable improvements.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, compliance, and benefits administration.
• Hands-on ADP experience required, with HRIS reporting and process improvement skills.
• Thorough understanding of federal and Connecticut employment laws, with complex employee relations experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives and priorities.
• Assess, restructure, and strengthen the HR department, including team development and service delivery.
• Oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR operations.
• Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, accommodations, and separations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, Connecticut, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Drive improvements in performance management, engagement, retention, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Oversee ADP and other HRIS platforms, improving reporting, data integrity, and workflows.
• Partner with Finance, Payroll, IT, and external vendors to optimize HR processes and benefits.
• Lead organizational change initiatives, HR transformation, and process improvements.
• Establish workforce metrics and provide actionable recommendations to executive leadership.
