Job summary

IHG Hotels is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee the housekeeping and laundry operations ensuring product quality and optimum guest service in alignment with hotel objectives.

You will plan, schedule, and organize daily activities, enforce policies, train staff, and manage budgets while coordinating with Front Office, Maintenance, and F&B to meet guest expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus four years housekeeping/laundry experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity.
• Some college preferred.
• Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department, plan, schedule, and organize work to ensure proper coverage.
• Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
• Ensure staff is trained and has tools and equipment to perform duties.
• Develop procedures for managing housekeeping and laundry quality; schedule inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
• Monitor VIP and frequency program needs; respond to guest complaints and requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Control expenses within housekeeping; assist in budgeting and financial plans.
• Conduct departmental meetings and pre-shift briefings; establish par levels for supplies.
• Promote teamwork with Front Office, Guest Relations, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage.
• Interact with guests, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other contacts as needed.
• May act as manager on duty and assist with other duties.
