Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to oversee all finance and accounting aspects, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of providing financial insights to support strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Performance Metrics
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Effectiveness of cash flow forecasting and financial modeling
- Reduction in reliance on external Certinia consultants
- Compliance with tax, audit, and financial regulations
- Implementation of cost-saving initiatives
Key Responsibilities
- Execute financial strategy, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance
- Manage finance and accounting functions, including transactional bookkeeping
- Develop financial reporting, forecasting, and cash flow models
- Provide financial insights to leadership for operational and strategic decisions
- Manage working capital, cash flow, liquidity, and balance sheet health
- Oversee tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting
- Monitor company performance, identify risks and opportunities
- Manage and optimize financial systems, especially Certinia (FinancialForce), Salesforce, and Excel
- Become SME on ERP/F&A aspects of Certinia, with training provided
- Recommend improvements in Certinia utilization, reducing external reliance
- Evaluate and support financial system improvements or transitions
- Ensure regulatory compliance and safeguard assets
- Enhance financial processes and controls
- Identify profitability opportunities through cost control and efficiency initiatives
- Track business performance, implement corrective actions, and report to stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned; travel up to 25% if not local to Cincinnati
Qualifications
- 5+ years in financial analysis, accounting, or controlling roles, preferably in professional services or tech
- Strong skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and cash management
- Experience with outsourced bookkeeping and financial system implementations
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance
- Proficiency in Certinia (FinancialForce), Salesforce, and Excel preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills for leadership presentation
- CPA, CFA, or MBA a plus but not required
