Director of Strategic Finance & FP&A (Remote, US)

Role Overview

Renew Home is seeking an experienced Director of Strategic Finance & FP&A to oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting. This role involves working closely with executive leadership and investors to provide insights that guide strategic decisions, ensure financial health, and support scalable growth. The candidate will build financial models, manage budgeting and forecasting, and deliver data-driven insights in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead annual budgeting, forecasts, and strategic plans aligned with company goals.
2. Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive performance.
3. Reporting & Analytics: Develop financial reports, variance analyses, KPIs, and ad-hoc models for senior management and the Board.
4. Forecasting: Provide accurate financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
5. M&A & Business Development: Support analysis of acquisitions and partnerships.
6. Capital Raising: Assist in raising equity and debt, developing models and responses.
7. Process Improvement: Enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency.
8. Accounting & Controls: Improve internal financial systems, ensure compliance, and collaborate with accounting teams.
9. Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate financial performance and risks.
10. Team Leadership: Mentor junior FP&A team members.
11. Systems Implementation: Lead deployment of new forecasting tools.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years in corporate finance (FP&A or similar roles) combined with experience in investment banking, banking, or private equity.
• Alternatively, 7+ years in one of these areas plus experience in the energy sector and a degree from a tier-one university.
• Strong financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting skills.
• Experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to partner with senior leadership for strategic insights.
• Deep understanding of financial statements and GAAP principles.
• Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, ERP, and FP&A software (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Planful).
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial information.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable to startup environments.
• Strong business acumen and leadership skills.
