Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA required.
• 8–10+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3–5 years in leadership.
• Manufacturing or industrial equipment industry experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, cost/inventory accounting and internal controls.
• Financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and capital project analysis.
• Experience with lender relations and covenants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts with department leaders.
• Oversee month-end/year-end close and GAAP financial statements.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards covering margin, cost, cash, and operations.
• Manage AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and tax filings; liaise with external auditors.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and ERP/reporting utilization.

Director of Finance

Full Time Dixon, IL, US

Salary Range: $140,000.00 To $160,000.00 Annually

Position Summary:

The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial health, reporting integrity, and fiscal planning of the company. This role leads the Accounting team, partners with the executive team to drive profitability, cash flow, and growth, and oversees Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as key financial advisor to the Vice President of Operations and CFO.
• Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts in partnership with department leaders.
• Develop KPIs and management dashboards covering margin, cost, cash, and operations.

Accounting, Reporting & Controls

• Ensure a timely, accurate month-end and year-end close and GAAP financial statements.
• Oversee cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures; mitigate financial risk.
• Oversee AP, AR, credit and collections, payroll, and fixed asset accounting.
• Manage the external accounting firm for the annual audit and all federal and state tax filings.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and ERP (Made2Manage) and reporting utilization.

Administrative Oversight

• Oversee IT operations, including the managed service provider and onsite IT technician.
• Assist in legal aspects of company contracts, outside counsel, and regulatory reporting.
• Support insurance administration, including renewals, audits, and claims.
• Assist in HR administration, including benefits programs and 401(k) plan compliance.
• Lead and develop the Finance and Accounting team; perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and will oversee:

• Controller
• Accounting Staff (7 team members; direct and indirect reports)
• IT: Onsite IT Technician and Managed Service Provider

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA required (CMA or MBA a plus).
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3–5 years in leadership.
• Manufacturing or industrial equipment industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost and inventory accounting, and internal controls.
• Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and capital project analysis.
• Experience managing lender relationships and covenant compliance.
• ERP experience (Made2Manage a plus) and advanced Excel; Power BI a plus.
• Proven leader and communicator with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Earning Potential:

Base of 140K-160K depending on experience

Bonus potential up to 25% of base salary

Hours and Commitments:

Onsite in Dixon, IL

Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4pm (full-time, exempt; additional hours during close, audit, and budget cycles)
