Monarch Casino Resort Spa in Black Hawk, Colorado is hiring a Director of Facilities to oversee the 24/7 operations of all company buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Job Title and Compensation
Title: Director of Facilities
- Salary: $150,000
- Bonus eligible after one year of completion
- Full‑time status
- Shifts vary; may include weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Maintain departmental budgets, monthly financials, and variance reporting, including overtime tracking and minimization
- Bid on and coordinate capital projects that require construction or installation of equipment
- Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of all company buildings and grounds
- Develop and direct maintenance policies
- Implement preventative/predictive maintenance and root‑cause analysis for chronic failures
- Ensure all company equipment and property is maintained, operational, and in safe working order
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and codes, maintain emergency procedures and equipment
- Monitor energy consumption and initiate cost‑saving measures to control utility costs
- Oversee purchasing and inventory procedures for Security, Surveillance, Facilities, and Housekeeping Departments using the “Kit” system
- Hire, onboard, and train staff in assigned areas
- Approve work schedules, salary adjustments, and staffing needs for departments
- Coach and develop managers and supervisors in the department(s)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Architecture, or Construction
- EPA certification
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Capacity scheduling background
- Highest level of confidentiality maintained
- Strategic and long‑range planning skills
- Utilities tracking and management for Energy Star rating
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Project management skills for capital projects
- Advanced organizational, leadership, and guest service skills (GAP analysis)
- Sustainability or “Green” certification, or ability to monitor similar corporate initiatives
- Advanced computer skills
- Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Valid driver’s license, Colorado Support Gaming License attainable
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Other Key Qualifications
- Construction and/or project management of capital projects
- Preventive maintenance, safety and schedule planning
- Six Sigma Belt ideal
- Project management, CPM scheduling, logistics management, strategic planning, budget management
Certifications Preferred
- P.M.P., F.M.P., and S.F.P.
- Six Sigma Belt (ideal)
