Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Director of External Reporting at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH. This leadership role oversees the preparation and presentation of financial information in compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP, SEC reporting, and related policies across the enterprise.

You will lead a team, collaborate with Legal, ensure timely filings, and manage complex accounting matters, including consolidations, disclosures, and external reporting deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience leading SEC reporting and external financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP differences.
• Proven ability to manage complex accounting matters.
• Experience coordinating with Legal on regulatory filings.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEC Reporting team’s preparation of 10-Q/10-K filings per US GAAP with legal partnership
• Establish timeline for completion of tasks to meet deadlines
• Oversee preparation of financial statements and footnotes
• Guide and review tie-outs to company records for completeness and accuracy
• Utilize Workiva for review of 10-Q, 10-K, earnings release documents and materials
• Oversee completion of the US GAAP disclosure checklist and other checklists as needed
• Manage the Quarterly Earnings Binder and other stakeholder deliverables
• Lead, with legal, the preparation of the Proxy in Workiva and review information for completeness
