Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company in the United States is seeking a seasoned professional for the Global Accounting CoE in Cleveland to serve as the accounting subject matter expert, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and driving standardization across revenue, receivables, cash, inventory, and intercompany processes.

You will help document processes, support policy development, and partner with Global Reporting, Controllership, SBS, and Commercial Finance on controls, automation, and continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of accounting, finance, or auditing experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in accounting processes and policies with US GAAP, documenting procedures to ensure consistency across the organization.
• Lead and support process documentation with flowcharts, procedures, and accounting assumptions; ensure global consistency and update global accounting policies.
• Support key accounting and controllership activities, including manual journal entries and account reconciliations; identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Develop global accounting policies translating complex guidance into practical business applications; promote compliance and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess risks, strengthen internal controls, improve efficiency, and advance best practices across the close process.
• Take on special projects and act as a business partner across the organization.
