Job summary

AMN Healthcare seeks a Director, Procurement to lead enterprise sourcing, supplier management, procurement governance, and cost optimization across the organization.

You will partner with senior leaders to drive category management, supplier consolidation, negotiations, and contract lifecycle management while modernizing capabilities with analytics and AI.

The role combines strategic influence with hands-on execution in a hybrid setup based in Dallas or San Diego.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher with 8–10 years procurement experience; OR HS Diploma/GED with 12–14 years of relevant experience.
• Progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supplier management.
• Proven success delivering procurement and category strategies with measurable outcomes.
• Experience managing complex sourcing initiatives and significant supplier negotiations.
• Experience identifying and delivering cost savings, cost avoidance, and supplier consolidation.
• Strong financial acumen, including business case development and vendor evaluation.
• Experience establishing procurement governance, processes, and operating models.
• Demonstrated AI fluency and use of automation/analytics to improve procurement outcomes.
• Ability to influence executive stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong partnering, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to drive change in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an enterprise procurement strategy aligned with financial and operational goals.
• Build and manage an enterprise sourcing pipeline and cost-optimization roadmap.
• Develop and execute category management strategies across major third‑party spend areas.
• Manage complex strategic sourcing initiatives, including evaluations, events, negotiations, and contracts.
• Partner with Finance to track and report procurement savings and value realization.
• Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to improve service and innovation.
• Drive supplier rationalization and demand management to reduce duplication and costs.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to align procurement priorities with business goals.
• Establish procurement governance, policies, controls, and compliance requirements.
• Oversee supplier performance, contract compliance, and risk management activities.
• Identify and mitigate supplier-related operational, cybersecurity, regulatory risks.
• Drive procurement technology, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Leverage data and AI-enabled capabilities to identify opportunities and insights.
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce manual work and shorten cycles.
• Manage procure-to-pay processes, POs, and catalog management.
• Develop dashboards measuring savings, spend, and supplier performance.
