Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union is seeking a Senior Engineering Leader to guide cross‑functional teams responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex systems software that underpin enterprise platforms. You will drive technical execution, align capabilities with business needs, and champion modern engineering practices across the lifecycle.

Location: Marlborough, MA and Hillsboro, OR. Target compensation ranges from $164,000 to $197,000 annually, plus an annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the role and 8+ years of experience.
• 4+ years in a People Leader role with strong leadership experience.
• Understanding of Quality Engineering practices, including test automation, CI/CD, observability, and integration testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Leads multiple engineering teams in designing, developing, and enhancing systems software.
• Oversees requirements analysis and architectural planning to meet performance and compatibility expectations.
• Sets technical direction for major software initiatives and coding standards.
• Ensures disciplined engineering practices across the full software lifecycle.
• Collaborates with product, infra, and business to translate needs into plans and backlogs.
• Identifies and mitigates technical risks and performance issues impacting delivery.
• Mentors engineering managers and fosters strong engineering culture.
• Manages resources, delivery planning, and cross‑team coordination.
• Drives continuous improvement through tooling and modern systems engineering practices.
