Job summary

Tomball Controls, LLC is seeking a Director of Engineering & Process Improvement to lead the engineering department and drive operational excellence across manufacturing sites. You will align mechanical/electrical design with continuous improvement to boost production efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in industrial manufacturing or related industries.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred with successful large-scale improvement experience.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, structural design, acoustic attenuation systems, and electrical integration processes.
• Experience with CAD and solid modeling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a multidisciplinary team of process engineers.
• Partner with Sales, Design Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Quality Assurance to ensure project success.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and VSM to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Analyze bottlenecks in sheet metal fabrication, welding, coating, and electrical integration to increase throughput.
• Manage CapEx investments to modernize production and support growth.
• Lead root cause investigations and CAPA to prevent recurrence and improve performance.
